About
The Bangers and Crash Percussion Group is a collective of Irish percussions who regularly collaborate for a wide range of projects. Their flexibility means that they can perform everything from huge, spectacular shows that fill the stage with instruments to small, intimate concerts, school workshops, street performances and much, much more.
Bangers and Crash Percussion’s mission is to use the vast range of sonorities and magic of percussion to open doors and make music fun and accessible to all. The group perform a mix of seminal works, arrangements and new commissions. They also collaborate with other artists and provide education workshops. Their repertoire journeys through the textures and colours of a range of composers that include Philip Glass, Matthias Schmitt, Steve Reich, Louis Andriessen, Chris Cerrone, Amanda Feery and Steven Snowden among others.
Bangers and Crash projects have included large productions for Cork Midsummer Festival and PIMA! Fest in Ennis, an 8-date Music Network tour, a collaboration with Irish National Opera, performances at Body & Soul, Westport Arts Festival, Killaloe Chamber Music Festival and over 100 workshops in schools for the likes of West Cork Music and Music Generation.
